LoCash have selected "I Know Somebody" as their next single. The song is one of the six tracks that make up the duo's I Love This Life EP, which was released last year.

"I Know Somebody" is sung from the point of view of a guy who's telling the new girl in town that, if she needs somebody to show her around, he's the guy for the job.

"I know somebody that's lost all in your smile / That can love you like a song on the radio dial," the chorus goes. "If that's what you want tonight / I know somebody, and you're lookin' right in his eyes."

“I Know Somebody” was written by Rhett Akins, Jeremy Stover and Ross Copperman -- and another artist almost got to the song before LoCash.

"Chris [Lucas] came to me and said, 'Man, you gotta hear this song. It's called "I Know Somebody,"" the duo's Preston Brust recalls. "We were kind of sifting through songs at the time, and I listened to it, and it was instant. I knew what we could do with this song, and I knew Chris was going to sound great on it.

"Somebody actually tried to get it at the last second," Brust adds. "They heard our recording, and "I Love This Life" wasn't very far on the charts yet ... This other guy was like, 'I'm going to go in the studio and record this song.' We put up a little bit of a fight. We held on strong."

Adds Lucas, "This music, this sound, this is LoCash, and what we've been working on and just kind of hiding away, and we're letting it go."

All of the I Love This Life EP, including "I Know Somebody," is available for download on iTunes.
