Little Big Town had a brand-new song to share at the 2019 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 7): The country quartet debuted their newest single, "The Daughters," during the ceremony, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

LBT's Karen Fairchild, a co-writer alongside Sean McConnell and Ashley Ray, held back tears as she belted out the song's most poignant lines. A large group of ballet dancers interpreted the song, with their numbers thinning down to a pair of young girls by song's end--as if they represented the daughters in the lyrics.

"The Daughters" is a dreamy, poignant song that speaks to the plight of women grew up or are growing up being told that their physical appearance is most important, and that they themselves are less important than men. It's the first single from Little Big Town's next album, the details of which have yet to be announced.

Four-time Group of the Year winners (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017), Little Big Town have been nominees in the category every year but one (2012) since 2006. They're nominated in the category once again in 2019, and with no signs of a hiatus or a loss of mainstream clout, Little Big Town have the best shot of anyone at eventually tying Rascal Flatts' record of six Group of the Year wins.
