The Oxygen television network has announced a new reality show about three young ladies trying to make it as country singer-songwriters. 'The Girls' will be filmed in Nashville and stars Jennifer Wayne, Caroline Cutbirth and Tayla Lynn (pictured left). Wayne is the granddaughter of iconic actor John Wayne; Cutbirth is a great-great-great-great-grandneice of American pioneer Daniel Boone; Lynn is country legend Loretta Lynn's granddaughter.

821 Entertainment President Anastasia Brown created the show with Wayne. She says cameras will follow the three ladies as they try to balance their careers and love lives.

"It's an unscripted dramedy -- 'Sex and the City' meets 'Behind the Music' meets 'Charlie's Angels,'" Brown tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "It's like the old saying, 'Art imitates life, or does life imitate art?' This show will be that exact saying, and the songs will come to life in front of your eyes."

There's no word yet on when 'The Girls' will start filming nor when it will air. This is one of seven TV series in the works from 821 Entertainment.
