Lee Brice is going back to school -- sort of. The 35-year-old has announced that he will embark on an environmentally friendly tour, in partnership with REVERB, a non-profit organization that unites artists and colleges to bring about environmental and social change.

As an avid outdoorsman, the singer-songwriter hopes to focus his attention on outdoor preservation and water conservation.

"We're hoping to offset the environmental impact of the tour by supporting clean energy projects and using buses and trucks fueled with locally produced biodiesel," Brice says. "I have two sons, and I look at this as investing in their future and that of kids around the world."

Brice's college trek will begin on April 8 at Campbell University in North Carolina; the Cadillac Three and Chase Bryant will join him on most dates. A complete list of dates is available below, and ticket and venue information is available on Brice's website.

The singer's tour announcement comes on the heels of his latest single, "Drinking Class," being certified gold, for sales in excess of 500,000 units, as a digital single.

“With ["Drinking Class"], I had some crazy stuff on it,” Brice recalls of the song, from his No.1 I Don't Dance album, released last year. “At the last minute, I realized what it was missing, and it was missing the simplicity of a working-class sound, the organic sounds, so some of that got taken off."

Brice is nominated for an ACM Award, for Single of the Year, for "I Don't Dance," at the upcoming 2015 ceremony.

""I Don’t Dance" is a special song — I wrote it for [my wife] Sara, so this nomination means a lot,” he says of the honor. “I’m also humbled to join the incredible lineup in the category, and it’s really cool to be recognized as a producer because it’s such a big part of my creative process.”

Brice wrapped up his co-headlining tour with Chris Young last month.
