Last year, American Country Awards co-host Kristin Chenoweth made quite a stir on the red carpet with her low-cut, emerald green gown (pictured left). But the acclaimed actress, who is back again to host the upcoming ceremony with Trace Adkins, is changing things up this year for her biggest fan: her mom.

"We were just talking about that dress," she reports with a laugh. "I had a fitting before I had to sing [at The Trevor Project fundraiser]. I have a very elegant dress that I'm going to wear on the red carpet this year because my mom was like, 'Did you have to show the girls? I mean, really?' But there's (another) dress that I'm going to wear during the show that rivals that green one. I'm going to get it in there, don't you worry."

Speaking of costume changes, one of the toughest stunts from the previous awards show fell under that department ... sort of.

"As far as last year, the only tricky moment was Trace and I," she explains. "We did a little bit where I was in the Baby Bjorn. I was attached in a Baby Bjorn on his chest, and we had just a few minutes to get me in there. So that was a little tricky to get strapped down, so to speak. I think this year we might top ourselves. I can't give too much away, but it's going to be fun."

The actress-singer-author is taking things slow, as she is still recuperating after being struck in the head by lighting equipment on the set of "The Good Wife" over the summer, but she isn't letting it stop her from her hosting duties. The American Country Awards airs Dec. 10 at 8:00 PM ET on FOX.
