Kiefer Sutherland Suffers Rib Injury After Slipping on Bus Steps, Postpones 3 Shows
Kiefer Sutherland is recuperating from an accident that seriously injured one of his ribs and left him unable to sing. Now, he's postponing the last three scheduled shows on his tour as he recovers, but is planning to return to Denmark and Gothenburg to reschedule the dates in the fall of 2019.
"Sadly I slipped on the steps of the bus whilst travelling to Denmark and seriously injured a rib, making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing," Sutherland wrote on Instagram. "Regretfully, I will not be able to perform the last 3 shows of our tour, but have every intension of making up these shows in September/October when we return."
The singer also thanked fans for understanding the situation, adding his regrets at having to cancel the scheduled appearance. "I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I have caused to the fans who have bought tickets. I will do everything I can to make it up to you," he continued.
Sutherland's most recent string of tour dates come following the release of his second full-length country album, a 10-track project called Reckless & Me. His first album Down in a Hole, came out in August of 2016. Before foraying into his musical career Sutherland racked up an extensive and celebrated acting career, starring in films such as A Few Good Men (1992), Melancholia (2011) and Flatliners (2017).
