Kenny Chesney sold the most tickets of any artist of any genre in 2008. But he's No. 4 on Pollstar's list of the highest-grossing concerts of the year. So why the discrepancy? Chesney's generosity.

"It's not about the money, it's about the fans," he says of his ticket-pricing policy. "There will always be tours that gross more than us, because I believe in trying to make it possible for anyone who wants to come out and rock with us to be able to do it."

Chesney's concerts average around $71 per ticket. That's far less than the three acts above him on Pollstar's list: Madonna ($154), Celine Dion ($119) and the Eagles ($128).

Chesney is not too concerned with dollar signs -- it's a different number that matters more to him.

"To me, I measure how successful these tours are by the faces we see, and last year I saw some pretty happy people everywhere we went," says the country superstar. "That there are a lot of fans there makes me feel like we're part of their summer and part of how they're living their life."
