Kelsea Ballerini dropped by the offices of PopCrush, one of The Boot's partner sites, to perform a bubbly acoustic version of her No. 1 single, "Love Me Like You Mean It," as part of their PopCrush Live Session series.

Press play on the video above to see Ballerini's performance. The rising country star is accompanied by two of her band members on guitar and percussion -- and great harmonies! -- while she sings a stripped-down version of the tune, which was her debut single. Ballerini shines in the simple setting, adding different inflections to the lyrics and playing to the camera with her body language.

"What made me want to lead with “Love Me Like You Mean It” was the confident-girl stance on it," Ballerini says. "And so, my whole album, I really wanted to have that theme of confidence in a girl, and being okay with who you are, and talking about heartbreak, and talking about all those things but trying to make it positive ..."

"Love Me Like You Mean It" is one of 12 tracks on Ballerini's freshman album, The First Time. It reached the top of the Mediabase country radio singles chart in late June, making it the first debut single from a solo female artist to do so since Carrie Underwood‘s “Jesus, Take the Wheel” landed at No. 1 in 2006. It also became the first debut single from a solo artist, male or female, to reach No. 1 since Sam Hunt's “Leave the Night On," as well as the first No. 1 tune for her label, Black River Entertainment.

Ballerini recently released her second single, "Dibs," also from The First Time. Both songs are available for download on iTunes.
