Kelly Clarkson has released new details about her anticipated upcoming album.

'Piece By Piece' will be Clarkson's seventh studio LP and is expected to hit stores via RCA Records in early March. She recently released the first single off of the album, 'Heartbeat Song,' which is the first new non-holiday music fans have seen from the artist since 2011's 'Stronger' and 2012's 'Greatest Hits: Chapter 1,' which featured three new tunes.

“It’s an uplifting record. I’ve always been a person about empowerment and doing empowering songs,” Clarkson says of the new disc. “There’s empowering songs on the record, and there’s a lot of positive on there.”

The new single is much more pop-centric than country, which may be an indication of what fans can expect from 'Piece By Piece,' although Clarkson has said that she is "always influenced by music I love, which is pop-rock / country / R&B / dance." Listen to 'Heartbeat Song' here.

The 'American Idol' album is also planning an upcoming tour. A list of dates, when announced, can be found at KellyClarkson.com.
