Country singers Kellie Pickler and Jewel are among the celebrities who are using their voices to raise awareness and funds to help in the fight against lung cancer.

The two stars join actress Valerie Harper, who is battling lung cancer, along with race car driver Mackena Bell, in assisting with the ongoing efforts of the American Lung Association through their Lung Force movement.

Each celebrity will launch their own online fundraising team, where people can enter, register and donate money to help find a cure for the disease.

"I'm raising my voice to let women know there is hope in the fight against lung cancer," Pickler says. "Join me at Lung Force Team Kellie to raise money to spread awareness of lung cancer, reduce lung cancer risks and support those affected."

Jewel, who penned the song, 'Sing On,' as a Lung Force anthem earlier this year, is passionate about her role in fighting the deadly illness.

"I want women across the country to know that there is hope and that we are all raising our voices in support of their battle," she says. "I am committed to seeing Lung Force succeed in the fight to save women's lives. And I ask women to join me at Lung Force Team Jewel to raise money in this fight."

November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month, which makes Lung Force's campaign that much more meaningful.

"Despite its overwhelming impact, it is clear that too few women are aware that anyone can get lung cancer," Harold Wimmer, national president and chief executive officer of the American Lung Association says. "With greater awareness, through Lung Force, we are dedicated to increasing the Lung Association's investment in lung cancer research and are pushing to increase the investment in cancer research at the National Institutes of Health."

Lung cancer is the leading form of fatal cancer in women. While it is typically attributed to smokers, two-thirds of the cases are from non-smokers or former smokers, with other causes including asbestos, radon, air pollution and genetic disorders.
