Kacey Musgraves to Perform ‘Blowin’ Smoke’ on ‘The Tonight Show’
Hot rising country star Kacey Musgraves has just landed another huge piece of exposure. The 24-year-old will perform her current single, 'Blowin' Smoke,' on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.'
The song is the follow-up to Musgraves' breakthrough hit 'Merry Go Round,' which was a Top 10 hit before her debut album even landed in stores. Musgraves co-wrote the song with Shane McAnally and Luke Laird, from the perspective of a group of waitresses smoking cigarettes and talking trash while on break at work. Billboard magazine recently called the track “a swaggering barroom singalong that proves she has versatility to match her sentimentality.”
Musgraves' debut album, 'Same Trailer Different Park,' debuted at No. 1 in the Top Country Albums chart upon its release in March. The relative newcomer has already performed on 'Ellen,' the CMT Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. She is currently on tour with Kenny Chesney.
The singer-songwriter is slated to perform on 'The Tonight Show' on Friday (July 26). The show airs at 11:35PM ET on NBC.
