Kacey Musgraves gave an emotional performance of her song "Rainbow" during a recent appearance at Austin City Limits. Musgraves' new ACL episode will air on Saturday night (Nov. 10), but The Boot's readers can press play above to get an exclusive first glimpse.

Musgraves, who is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards on Wednesday (Nov. 14), delivered a stripped-down rendition of the bittersweet song, which she wrote with Shane McAnally and Natalie Hemby. The gentle melody is Musgraves' ode to brighter days ahead: "If you could see what I see, you'd be blinded by the colors ... So tie up your bow, take off your coat, and take a look around ... Darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya / That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head."

"Rainbow" is the final song on Musgraves' newest album, Golden Hour, released in March. She shared in a tweet that the song, the record's final track, was her Memaw's favorite song and was played at her funeral.

Musgraves' performance on Austin City Limits will be a seven-song set during a double-billed hour, which she shares with Lukas Nelson and his band Promise of the Real. ACL airs weekly on PBS stations nationwide; visit ACLTV.com to find out when the show is on in your area.

Musgraves is on the road for her headlining Oh, What a World Tour. Previously, she spent the summer on tour with pop star and former One Direction member Harry Styles.
