Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry’s ‘CMT Crossroads’ to Air in June

The episode of 'CMT Crossroads' featuring Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry will premiere on CMT on Friday, June 13 at 10PM ET.

'CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves' marks the 50th episode of the award-winning series. The two singers met in Los Angeles to tape the episode, and collaborated on some of their biggest hits, including Musgraves' 'Follow Your Arrow' and 'Merry Go 'Round' and Perry's 'Teenage Dream' and 'Roar.'

For the first time in the history of the series, which began in 2002, the episode will also air on VH1, MTV, MTV Hits and Palladia. Dates and times for those channels will be announced at a later date.

Musgraves and Perry will join forces again, when the country star joins Perry for her Prismatic World Tour this summer.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Katy and her vision since I found out about her,” Musgraves says. ”And since she’s found out about me she’s been an amazing light and friend to me … In some ways we’re on opposite ends of the spectrum, but in a lot of ways our music makes total sense together. Her songs, while having grit, are so fun and it’ll be a cool challenge to throw a little country on ‘em.”

Musgraves will spend much of the summer on the road, including serving as the opening act for Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss, before joining Perry in August.
