Josh Turner knew almost instantly that his latest song, 'Why Don't We Just Dance,' was a hit ... In fact, it propelled him into the studio a little ahead of schedule, just so no one else would get ahold of the infectious tune and cut it before he could!

"'Why Don't We Just Dance' was one of the first songs we heard in the process of recording this record, and the funny thing was we weren't ready to start cutting the album yet," Josh explains to The Boot. "But when we heard it, we were like, 'OK, we need to cut this before somebody else does.' And so we went in the studio and recorded it, and it turned out great! It became our first single and has been getting a great reaction. People are dancing during my shows and singing it back to me already, so that's a good sign."

Josh will likely perform the tune on Monday (Feb. 8) when he appears for the first time on 'The Late Show With David Letterman.' Two versions of his new album, 'Haywire' -- a standard and a deluxe edition, will hit stores the following day.
