A release date has not yet been announced, but Jon Pardi is already psyched about his sophomore album.

"It’s going to be awesome, groovy country, and it’s going to kick everybody in the a--," Pardi tells The Boot. "I cut five outside songs and wrote the rest, but I still don’t know what’s going to make it onto the album."

Pardi co-wrote 10 of the 11 songs on his freshman disc, 2014's Write You a Song, but he says that he certainly doesn't feel like he has to write every track on his records to make it sound authentic.

"We travel so much as touring musicians and artists that sometimes, when you hear a great song that you really think could be on your project, you go ahead and record it, instead of try to write it," he explains. "And then you can spend time on writing other ideas or finishing songs you started."

The debut single from Pardi's upcoming album, "Head Over Boots," is now available for download on iTunes. The California native is currently finishing up his headlining All Time High Tour, with the Brothers Osborne serving as his opening act.

"I love their music. I love them as people," Pardi says of his tourmates. "We really just kind of share a stage and have a great time. It’s a great night of country music."

A list of all of Pardi's upcoming shows is available on his website.
