Joey + Rory know that it's important to live life to the fullest, especially given Joey Feek's recent battle with Stage IV cervical cancer. So, they're taking the reins and doing something that she's always dreamed of: recording a new album of hymns.

The duo announced the new project on Friday (Aug. 14) via their Facebook page.

"... in the studio w[ith] my beautiful bride today, recording a new album of old hymns," Rory Feek writes. "It's been a dream of Joey's to do someday. That someday is today."

Accompanying the news were photos of Joey Feek in the studio, her black cowgirl boots and the lyrics to the well-loved hymn "Jesus Paid It All."

Joey Feek was diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer in June. She underwent a 10-hour surgery at the end of July, at Chicago's Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and has since returned home. However, she'll need five more weeks of chemo and radiation, plus 18 weeks of more aggressive chemo.

"We’ve just been enjoying being together at home, and every day of every week since Joey got out of the hospital has had some ups and downs," Rory Feek shared recently. "But as of about a week ago, things have started leveling out, and it’s now easier to see where we are and where we’re headed from here.”

Joey + Rory aren't letting her cancer treatment slow them down musically, though. In addition to the new album, they recently performed one of their intimate farmhouse concerts.
