In his most recent blog post, Joey + Rory's Rory Feek revealed that his wife, Joey Feek, "can no longer get out of bed" due to the advancement of her terminal cancer. However, on the last day that she was able to walk, the two shared a sweet and special "last dance."

"I took her in my arms in the living room and once more put her hand in mine, and we danced. She steadied with her cane, and I softly moved her across the room, singing George Strait’s “You Look So Good in Love” in her ear," Rory Feek recounts. "In the middle of the song though, as I was being careful not to step on her toes -- she stopped and looked up at me and said, 'How about if I lead?' And I followed her lead as we slowly two-stepped on her mama’s living room floor."

In late October, Rory Feek informed fans, via his blog, that his wife’s first round of chemotherapy and radiation treatments for Stage IV cervical cancer did not help; rather, two quarter-sized tumors had appeared in the same area that the doctors had been treating, and several more tumors had appeared in her abdomen. In light of that sad news, the Feeks stopped all medical treatments, returned to their Tennessee farm and canceled all of their Farmhouse Concerts that were scheduled for November and December. They have been spending time in Joey Feek’s hometown, visiting with family, friends and other loved ones, and in early November, Rory Feek revealed that his wife had entered home hospice care.

Rory Feek has been keeping fans updated via his blog about Joey Feek's condition, sharing their lives during this trying time in an open and honest way. But, as his newest post explains, he has also tried to “fiercely” protect his wife.

“With all that she’s going through, I only want her to be seen in a good light … She wants to be remembered as a singer of songs. A devoted wife. A loving mother. Not a cancer patient," Feek writes. "And so I have tried to be very careful. To honor her. But my wife is braver than me.”

Joey + Rory, Rory Feek recalls, recently had a long conversation about her diagnosis and looked at the pictures and video that he has been taking. Together, they decided that "[t]his is our life. It’s what He has given us to live. And share. Sharing what we’re going through with others is really all we have to give.”

Feek adds, "Like dancing, she wants to do this right, or not do it at all ... to share the good, the bad, and the beautiful. And so we will."
