Jewel Prefers Cookies Over Bikinis

Jewel is asked all the time why she hasn't straightened her crooked front teeth, now that she can afford it. But, as demonstrated on a video on her MySpace page, Jewel's choppers act as what she calls "a little can opener." The country-pop singer is seen in the video tearing open a cookie wrapper with her teeth. Between bites of her dessert, she also discloses in the video that she turned down an opportunity to be on the cover of Shape magazine.

"I didn't feel right about the fact that I'm a songwriter," she says. "I stand for serious things, and yet there I am oiled up in a bikini."

Jewel's first country album is due June 3. She's also set to go on tour with Brad Paisley this summer.
