The story of June Carter Cash comes to life in the Lifetime TV movie 'Ring of Fire,' starring Jewel. The folk singer plays Johnny Cash's wife in a made-for-television movie that's centered around her life and career before and during her marriage to the Man in Black.

Jewel filmed the movie in Atlanta last year, tweeting more than one picture of herself dressed as Carter Cash. The resemblance is uncanny. In March, a four-minute scene from the movie was revealed at Rolling Stone. Despite a lack of acting credits, Jewel had no trouble capturing the flirty, feisty and funny charm of the late songstress.

Of course, she had no trouble with the singing. "It was a gritty role," she told Taste of Country in April. "It has a lot of music in it, but it also deals a lot with the psychological repercussions of being with an addict and what being a co-dependent means to her, and a lot of tougher issues."

In the preview, she's yet to be involved with Cash. In fact, she's flirting heavily with future husband Carl Smith, who blushes a little when she asks him to take her for a ride in his new Cadillac.

The movie is based on the book 'Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash' by John Carter Cash. It begins with her Virginia upbringing and carries on through her oft-rocky relationship with Cash. Matt Ross from 'American Horror Story' portrays Johnny Cash in the TV film.

"A lot of the movie hinges on the fact that everyone in her life was an addict and she ended up having to face her own co-dependency and go into therapy when Johnny went in," Jewel told CBS.

'Ring of Fire' airs on Lifetime at 9PM ET on May 27.
