Jason Aldean’s ‘Old Boots, New Dirt’ Debuts at No. 1 Across All Genres
Jason Aldean has done it again. His latest album, 'Old Boots, New Dirt,' debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 chart, marking the second time in a row the country music superstar has achieved such success.
The album includes the No. 1 hit 'Burnin' It Down,' which Aldean says is only part of the eclectic 15-track record.
“Just because I’m a country artist doesn’t mean I don’t hear things in other forms of music that I think are really cool and could work for what we’re doing here,” he explains. “From the very beginning, we’ve always tried to cut great songs. Some of those songs are about promoting having a good time -- driving trucks, fishing, hunting, because that’s just what we do -- but I would like to think that some stuff on this album is a little deeper, too.
“My hope is that my fans will see that I’m still staying true to my roots while bringing a new edge to the music,” he adds. “That’s why this album title made sense to me -- it just really fits where I am right now.”
The Georgia native's 2012 'Night Train' album also debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and has sold more than one million copies to date.
