Jason Aldean Family Christmas Will Include Mall Trips With Dad

Jason Aldean spent much of the year away from home with his My Kinda Party tour, and will head out in 2013 on his Night Train trek. In between the two, the country superstar plans on taking some time off to enjoy the holidays with his wife, Jessica, and two daughters, Keeley and Kendyl.

"I'm on the road so much during the year, so what I look forward to the most is being home with my family, " Jason tells People magazine. Included on his to-do-list are "things like taking the girls to the mall to shop or to see Santa Claus. Things that simple to me are really cool."

The Georgia native weathered a public scandal earlier this year when pictures emerged of him getting close with former "American Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr at a bar in Los Angeles. And although he endured seeing his name splashed all over the tabloids (and later apologized for his indiscretion), the incident hasn't tarnished his memory of 2012.

"This year, the tour went really well, the [Night Train] album has done really well, and good stuff has definitely outweighed the bad," he says. "All that other stuff is kind of in the past and we're just looking to have a great year in 2013."

The singer's plans for the new year include adding several stadium shows to his Night Train tour, thanks to increasing demand from loyal fans. "We've been really careful with that stuff," he acknowledges. "We don't want to go out and play stadiums just so we can go out and brag that we can play a stadium. That's not really the issue. We tried it this year and it went really well ... The view from the stage at something like that is pretty incredible. I could definitely get used to seeing that every night for sure."

Jason's Night Train tour kicks off Feb. 21 in Bossier City, La., and will include shows at Fenway Park in Boston, Chicago's Wrigley Stadium and the University of Georgia's Stanford Stadium, where he will host the first-ever concert in the 50,000-seat arena. See his tour schedule here.
