Jamie Lynn Spears might be the next country music superstar. The younger sister of pop singing sensation Britney Spears has announced plans to release her debut country album.

"It's seeing it all here and it's real," the 22-year-old explains to E! News. "It's like, 'Oh my goodness, I'm really gonna do this.' It's like my second baby."

Spears rose to fame as the teen star of the Nickelodeon show 'Zoey 101' before an unplanned pregnancy at age 16 caused the sitcom's cancellation. The actress-turned-singer admits finding out she was going to be a teen mother was a big shock for her.

"[It] made no sense and I didn't understand it and I was young,"she admits.

Now, she says she is ready to focus full-time on her music. Engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Watson, she currently makes her home in Music City, while she puts the finishing touches on her freshman project.

"I don't think you just wake up one morning and decide you're going to sing. It's something I've always done," the 22-year-old explains. "But as a young child, all that was offered to me. You don't know how to say, like, 'Oh, this is what I want for the rest of my life.' You can't make those kind of decisions at 10 years old."

Before Spears releases her solo project, she can first be heard on her big sister's eighth studio album. The siblings duet on 'Chillin' With You' from the upcoming 'Billy Jean' record.
