When you're a musician, like Jack Ingram, you log a lot of hours in the air. However, this Texas troubadour managed to have a first at 35,000 feet during a flight from his home in Austin to Dallas on Thursday (July 26). Jack, along with Granger Smith, played an acoustic concert for Army veteran Jeremy Smith and his fiancée, Sarah Light (and the rest of the passengers), as part of the pair winning "The Boot Campaign Home Giveaway." Following the in-flight show, the couple were also presented a mortgage-free home in Fort Worth, Texas. (Watch a video of the surprise below.)

"My in-flight concert experience with the Boot Campaign, Southwest Airlines and my new friends, Jeremy and Sarah is something I will never forget," says Jack, who performed his No. 1 hit, "Wherever You Are." "To be able to show my support for our military veterans in such an enjoyable way is something I am grateful for, and I have always been just a little jealous of the flight attendants that get to sing through the plane's phone public address system! Check!!!"

Jeremy was selected for the prizes after being injured in 2008 while on active duty in Afghanistan. The 22-year-old Purple Heart recipient is still undergoing surgeries to help repair and heal his long-term damage.

After arriving in Dallas, Jeremy and Sarah were greeted by a special water canon salute, which drenched the plane, and they were escorted by the "Barefoot and Crazy" singer to a ceremony in their honor. There, they received word of their new, mortgage-free home, and were treated to another concert from Jack and Granger at the Southwest Airlines Headquarters.

The Boot Campaign, which sells military issued combat boots to the public, uses the proceeds for programs like the Home Giveaway for soldiers such as Jeremy, who are returning from active duty.
