Hank Williams Jr. has announced the release of his upcoming new album, It's About Time.

The singer revealed on his Facebook page that the upcoming set of tunes, which will be released on Nash Icon, will be available on Jan. 15.

“I am writing songs better than ever and am signed with a label that is already making history,” Williams says. “It’s an exciting time!”

The 66-year-old, whose last record, Old School New Rules, was released in 2012, says that It's About Time will appeal to his expansive fan base.

"We have made an album that is pure magic," Williams tells Rolling Stone Country. "The songs — some I wrote and others I got from great songwriters — are typical Hank Jr. songs and I think will connect with anyone who hears them."

Williams Jr. shares his new label with Reba McEntire, Ronnie Dunn and Martina McBride, and he says that he couldn't be happier with his labelmates.

“Country music singers have always been a real close family,” he notes. “I have done shows with Ronnie Dunn, recorded a hit record with Reba and absolutely love Martina McBride.”

Bocephus, along with Eric Church, will help open the 2015 CMA Awards, which will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on ABC on Nov. 4 -- the same day that It's About Time will be available for pre-order. The song they will sing, "Are You Ready for the Country," will be the first single from Williams Jr.'s new project.

“[The song] is the perfect narrative for the night,” says CMA Awards Executive Producer Robert Deaton. “It sets up musically everything that is going to happen for the rest of the show.”
