Hear Hank Williams Jr.’s New Single, ‘Are You Ready for the Country’
In advance of his performance on the 2015 CMA Awards, Hank Williams Jr. has shared a lyric video for his new single, "Are You Ready for the Country."
“Are You Ready for the Country” was written and first recorded by Neil Young, and released on his 1972 album, Harvest. Waylon Jennings later covered the song and released it as a single in 1976; it became a Top 10 hit for Jennings. Williams Jr.'s version of the song features Eric Church; Williams Jr. takes the lead on the first verse and the chorus, while Church sings the second verse.
Williams Jr. and Church will kick off the 2015 CMA Awards with the performance of "Are You Ready for the Country," which is Williams Jr.’s first song on Nash Icon. The tune opens his upcoming new album, It's About Time, which is set for release on Jan. 15.
“We have made an album that is pure magic,” Williams Jr. says. “The songs — some I wrote and others I got from great songwriters — are typical Hank Jr. songs and I think will connect with anyone who hears them.”
The 2015 CMA Awards are scheduled to air live from Nashville on Nov. 4 at 8PM ET on ABC.
