Gwen Sebastian Says Miranda Lambert Is Not Jealous
Blake Shelton's latest single, 'My Eyes,' is a sultry duet between the singer and his former teammate on Season 2 of 'The Voice,' Gwen Sebastian.
But while the two might sing sexy lines like, "Come a little closer, come a little closer / Come a little closer, girl the way you look tonight / My eyes are the only thing I don't wanna take off of you," Sebastian insists there isn't any jealousy from Shelton's wife, Miranda Lambert.
“She loves it,” she tells Taste of Country. “It’s like a big happy family, and even for Blake to ask me to sing on his album is pretty cool, but to have him feature me is amazing.”
Shelton's wife is so supportive of Sebastian, she even sang on two tracks on her 2013 self-titled record, 'I'm Not Who You Think I Am' and 'Annie's New Gun.'
"‘I’m Not Who You Think I Am’ was one of those songs that I had heard, and I just went, ‘Wow!'" Sebastian recalls to The Boot. "I played it for Miranda Lambert, and she loved the song, so she graciously said, 'I’m gonna come sing on it.' So she did, which is an amazing thing to me. For her to take time out of her busy schedule to come sing on my album is a pretty precious thing."
The 40 year old, who toured with Shelton following her appearance on Season 2 of 'The Voice,' currently serves as a vocalist in his band.
“He’s done so much for me. There’s really no way I can repay him back, to be honest with you,” she notes. “Maybe try to pay him back in a bow and arrow, maybe some vodka."
'My Eyes' is currently in the Top 10 and climbing.
“I’m hoping it goes No. 1, and if it doesn’t, it’s my fault," Sebastian adds.
