There's a warmth to Grace Potter & the Nocturnals' "Stars" video that is not held back by its sparse black-and-white footage. While the tune was born from grief, this performance-based clip seems to pay tribute to those who are lost, rather than wallowing in their departure. (Watch the "Star" video below.)

"I wrote it about a dear friend who passed away who was chemically not balanced," Grace tells The Boot. "Sadly, everyone knew this was going to happen. They found her in a river, which was an affirmation of our deepest fears. But at the same time, people who are so imbalanced that way have this charisma that is stirring. Somebody like this person draws you in and loves the fact that they take things a little too far."

There are actually two versions of "Stars." The first (heard in the video below) appears on Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' latest album, The Lion The Beast The Beat, and the second is bonus track to the project that was recorded as a duet with Kenny Chesney.
