George Strait had an eventful, and productive, weekend, and it was all for a good cause.

The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year helped raise an astonishing $425,000 for Troops First Foundation, through the Vaqueros del Mar Invitational Golf Tournament and auction held at his own Tapatio Springs Golf Resort in Texas.

The live auction included a pair of Strait's boots taken off of his own feet and added to a package, which alone earned $130,000. The legendary singer also put on an impromptu concert for the 400 guests.

Troops First Foundation provides assistance to service men and women who have been injured while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. In honor of Strait's contributions, he and Tom Cusick, co-owner of Tapatio Springs, were each given an American flag that had been used during Proper Exit and Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Strait will head to Nashville on Nov. 22 to perform as part of the George Jones tribute concert. He will kick off the final leg of his farewell Cowboy Rides Away Tour on Jan. 9, 2014, in Bossier City, La. Check ticket availability here.
