Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Light Up for Christmas

Trisha Yearwood has always enjoyed the Christmas holiday, but now as a wife and step-mom to husband Garth Brooks' three daughters, the time at home with their family is even more special. But even Trisha says that she has to limit her excitement when it comes time to decorate for Christmas.

"[I start decorating] the day after Thanksgiving ... I mean the second after!" Trisha tells CMT. "Christmas is my favorite holiday, but it has to come when it comes. I'm one of those people who wants to put the lights up [before Thanksgiving], but I make myself wait."

Trisha says Garth also enjoys getting in on the Christmas decorating action. "He puts up the lights and strings the garland ... he does all the heavy lifting. He's wonderful. In fact, he's so good at detail that usually he goes back behind me and fixes what I do! He's really good!"

Trisha continues spreading Christmas cheer the upcoming PBS special, 'Christmas at Belmont,' which airs Dec. 23.
