If you haven’t heard of Farewell Angelina yet, be prepared to after the release of their brand new single “Shotgun Summer.” No doubt, this is a track you’ll be cranking up while the windows are down all summer long.

Released this week, “Shotgun Summer” is the perfect soundtrack to a pretty adventurous summer with lyrics like, “Gonna burn red hot like a shotgun summer / Flash of lightning, roll of thunder / Fast as we can go / Gonna turn up the heat like a rock n’ roll drummer / Bullets flying from a moonshine runner / Losing all control / Let’s give September something to remember / Let’s pull the trigger on a shotgun summer.

Composed of Lisa Torres, Nicole Witt, Andrea Young and Elizabeth Elkins, the women of Farewell Angelina are no strangers to country music. Before being discovered by Keith Stegall, who quickly signed them to his new label, this quartet of talented women were winning awards for writing songs and performing all over Nashville.

“Shotgun Summer” is the second single from Farewell Angelina, preceded by “Hillbilly 401k.” Considering the fun, sassy nature of these two tracks, it’s safe to say that plenty of good things are set to come from Farewell Angelina in the future.

The band is currently recording their debut EP, produced by Stegall, which will be released later this year.
