Reading, writing, and rowdy good times ...

Eli Young Band returned to their alma mater, the University of North Texas, to film the video for "Life at Best," making its debut today (Feb. 27.) Chris Thompson, Mike Eli, James Young and Jon Jones, who were all fraternity brothers and roommates at UNT more than a decade ago, have recreated some fun experiences they had on campus in the humorous clip. From boxing to home economics classes and even cheerleading (the funniest part of the video, in our opinion), the guys show their very diverse educational experience in the video. Watch it below, and make sure you stay tuned until the very end to catch the hilarious backstory of the inception of the Eli Young Band.

"Life at Best" is the title track to the band's fourth album. While they chose UNT's campus as the setting for the video, the song is actually about everything that has happened to them since college. "It encompasses all of the things we've done in the past 10 years," James tells The Boot. "It's a song about no matter what station in life you're at, you still have struggles and even when you get successful, you've got to maintain. We're somewhere in the middle of all that craziness right now, and it was hopeful. We're suckers for the hopeful and positive songs, so we felt that it encompassed all the ideas we had going into this record."
