Artist: Edens Edge

Members: Cherrill Green, Hannah Blaylock, Dean Berner

Current Single: 'Amen'

(Watch the trio perform 'Amen' live at the Grand Ole Opry here.)

Influences: Though all three Edens Edge members are Arkansas natives, they have very different individual musical backgrounds, resulting in country music tinged with bluegrass, folk, rock and a dash of soul. Dean listened to everyone from Crystal Gayle to Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton while he was growing up, but it was his father's recordings of Johnny Cash that spurred his interest in a music career. Hannah comes from a folk/Americana/country background, while Cherrill listened to her mother's favorite classic country albums by the Judds, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn ... mixed in with a little Beatles.

Why We Dig 'Em: The trio has a refreshing sound that belies their youth, exemplified by tight harmonies and excellent musicianship. After moving to Nashville in 2007, they worked with hit tunesmith Kye Fleming, who taught them the finer points of songwriting, which only added to their already considerable talents. Their sound easily conjures up memories of music on the front porch, with friends and neighbors gathered after a hearty meal of fried chicken, potato salad, grandma's banana pudding and cold iced tea.

"Our first single has that small-town feel, where the saying, 'Can I get an amen,' is common in the Bible Belt where we grew up," says Hannah. "It's what would happen in a small town and what it's like to grow up in a place where everyone knows everyone else and everything about them."

The trio recently performed on the Grand Ole Opry, taking, almost literally, the small town with them! "We had 16 people come from our hometowns to see us, and Brad Paisley introduced us," Cherrill says. "We grew up listening to the Opry, so everyone was very excited to be asked to be on it."

Speaking of Brad, Edens Edge will be on the superstar's H2O II world tour beginning May 28 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
