Dwight Yoakam has released the music video for "Liar." The song is from his recently released Second Hand Heart album.

The video, directed by Gregory Alosio, shows Yoakam and his band playing on the back of an El Camino, parked on Sunset Boulevard in Burbank, Calif. While most artists would request that a busy street like Sunset Boulevard be shut down for the filming, Yoakam and Alosio decided to capture the traffic live instead.

"The "Liar" music video shoot was an especially fun and unique shoot to direct," Alosio says, "because, after lengthy negotiations with the city, we were granted an unusual and special clearance to capture a live performance on the legendary Sunset Strip, a street that, more than any other, has earned iconic status for being the location of music history for decades."

The video also shows live models, with the word "LIAR" emblazoned in bright colors on their white bodysuits, performing in a window behind Yoakam and his band.

"Acknowledging the rich music history of the Sunset Strip, concept-wise, in the video," Alosio explains, "we aimed to have one foot firmly planted in a live country/rock performance and the other placed in a whimsical, creative "pop art" aesthetic of the 1960s."

Second Hand Heart was Yoakam's first release since returning to Warner Bros./Reprise Records. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, making it Yoakam's highest-charting album since 1988's Buenas Noches From a Lonely Room landed in the top spot.
