On the heels of their epic performance at the 2016 CMA Awards, the Dixie Chicks and Beyonce have shared a studio recording of their collaboration on Beyonce's "Daddy Lessons." The remix is available now as a free download on Soundcloud; readers can also click play below to listen.

When it was first announced that Queen Bey would be performing at the CMAs -- only a few hours before the awards show's 50th anniversary broadcast was set to begin -- some were skeptical as to how pop music's biggest star would fit into Country Music's Biggest Night. But with a perfect mix of New Orleans' Creole and country twang, "Daddy Lessons" sounds amazing as a raw and rocking song, fit for either genre. From blues-heavy brass to plucky banjo to wailing harmonica to Martie Maguire's signature fiddle, the pop-country remix is only made stronger by the surprisingly beautiful vocal blending of the Chicks' Natalie Maines and Beyonce.

In many ways, the studio recording, released just minutes after the two acts' performance, belongs as much to the Dixie Chicks as to its original singer. Beyonce trades verses with Maines and gives ample time for the music to shine, and with all those hoots and hollers, you can tell that all of the involved parties are having a rabble-rousing great time.

"Daddy Lessons" is originally from Beyonce's surprise 2016 album, Lemonade. Prior to teaming up with Beyonce for the CMAs, the Dixie Chicks had been covering the song in concert.
