Dierks Bentley has a lot on his plate these days. In addition to diaper detail for newborn Jordan (who joins big sister Evie), the singer-songwriter says he's is spending most of his time working on tunes for his upcoming album.

"I've written more songs for this record and feel more prepared for this record than ever," Dierks writes on his website. "I'm going into the studio this week. It's going to be a total blast. I'm excited about that, and excited to show footage from the studio, as well as the tour that's coming up in March."

Dierks announced last week that he was heading out on the road for his Jagermeister Country tour in a couple months, with a new sponsor that promised concert-goers an entertaining -- and possibly inebriating -- experience. "Bud Light has always been a great sponsor of the tour, but we're moving on to a new partner, Mr. Jagermeister," he explains. "It's definitely going to be our most fun, our most rowdiest tour ever. I'm so excited about getting back out on the road."

The new album is the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed bluegrass CD, 'Up on the Ridge,' and the accompanying tour. While the platinum-selling singer says he enjoyed the experience of playing his favorite style of music for fans, he insists he has no plans to leave mainstream country music.

"The Up on the Ridge tour was so much fun but now we're turning back to a more modern country show," Dierks tells The Boot. "We're just gonna go out there and have fun like we always do, with the guys in my regular band. We'll incorporate some of the stuff we learned on the Up on the Ridge tour so we'll have new sounds for our show."

The Arizona native will head to Los Angeles next month to play a pre-Grammy show at the Troubadour club on February 12. He is also nominated for three Grammy Awards, including one for Best Country Album for 'Up on the Ridge.' The Jagermeister Country Tour kicks off March 17 in Wallingford, Conn., with opening acts Josh Thompson and new duo Miss Willie Brown. See Dierks' tour itinerary here.
