She isn't just a pretty 'voice,' but also one talented songwriter! Dia Frampton, who rose to fame as the runner-up on the inaugural season of NBC's 'The Voice,' has a catchy new single out called 'Don't Kick the Chair.' The Utah native puts the tune's poignant lyrics in the spotlight for its brand-new video. Watch the exclusive premiere below.

"I wrote this song with Busbee and Julie Frost," Dia, who was on country megastar Blake Shelton's 'Voice' team, explains to The Boot. "It started with my lyrical idea, 'Don't Kick the Chair,' since my sisters and I throw that phrase around at home when we're complaining about something when, on the other hand, it's a beautiful day outside. In other words, 'don't kick the chair' is another way of saying, 'don't give up,' because you can't have the highs without the lows, and there's no use in getting down about something for too long. You got to start pushing forward at some point."

'Don't Kick the Chair' also features an interlude by famed rapper Kid Cudi. "It was a pleasure having Kid Cudi on this song," says Dia. "I'm a fan of his work and also am very happy with the positive lyrics he created. This song has a dark undertone, but overall, I wanted it to be optimistic."

The new song is featured on Dia's upcoming album, 'Red,' scheduled to hit stores December 6. Pre-order it here.

Dia will hit the road with Blake Shelton next year on his Well Lit & Amplified tour. See their concert schedule here.
