Demi Lovato may be one of the most popular pop singers on the airwaves today, but that doesn't mean the 19-year-old isn't open to other genres, as well.

"Wrote my first country song today," the singer and actress recently tweeted, leaving fans to wonder if the teen singing sensation is making a genre switch. A move to country music wouldn't be too much of a stretch for the 'Princess Protection Program' star. Demi grew up listening to country music, with a mother who enjoyed her own career as a country music artist before starting a family.

The Texas native, who counts Taylor Swift among her close gal pals, says she is also a fan of Rascal Flatts and Kenny Chesney.

Demi just released her third studio album, 'Unbroken,' in September. She joins several country artists, including Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum and Eric Church, as nominees at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 11, which will air at 8:00 PM on CBS.
