David Rosales has just released the video for his current single, 'Too Young to Know Better,' and he's sharing it with readers of The Boot first.

The song is the first single from Rosales' new EP, 'Along the Way,' which was released on June 17. The singer-songwriter -- who is also one-half of the Americana duo David & Olivia -- drew from a broad sonic palette for the new material, including American folk, blues and country, for a style that has been compared to Ryan Adams, Amos Lee and Brett Dennen.

Much of the material for the seven-song project emerged from a writing binge last autumn.

"I find that I get really creative and catch a writing bug around the Fall," explains Rosales. "I don't know what it is, maybe it's that I was born around that time, but I just get into this writing groove and settle in with a good batch of songs."

He fine-tuned the songs in a series of live performances before recording them.

"I'm a big believer in sussing material out in a live setting," Rosales says. "I'm forced to commit to playing or singing a part that I might be on the fence about in a certain way. It's very instinctual at this point. I can immediately tell what works and what doesn't. The audience never lies."

'Along the Way' is available to download at iTunes. Keep up with David Rosales here.
