David Fanning has released the lyric video for his latest single, 'Doin' Country Right.'

With lines like, "So like that red dirt dust needs a little kickin' up / Just like that empty hand needs a little ice-cold can / I need a country girl, a country night, down a country road, doin' country right," Fanning says he knew right away he wanted to include the tune on his upcoming album.

“From the very first time I heard the song, I couldn't get it out of my head -- and I still can’t!” Fanning says. “There are so many different ways that people ‘do country.’ No matter who you are or what walk of life you come from, you can ‘do country right’ whether you are living it or listening to it.”

The Alabama native is no stranger to the music business. In addition to being a promising new artist, he's also an established songwriter, with cuts by Thompson Square, Scotty McCreery and Tracy Lawrence. Fanning is also a veteran producer, working as one-fourth of the production company New Voice Entertainment, whose credits include Thompson Square and Parmalee. But singing has always been his ultimate goal.

"The performing part has always been the goal, since I can remember," Fanning tells The Boot. "Even before I was a teenager, young, young, I always wanted to be an artist. When we had the opportunity to produce Thompson Square, it kinda shifted my focus a little bit -- and looking back now, I’m so glad it went this way. I’m glad I got to produce artists like Thompson Square and Parmalee and all that first, because I learned so much about the business. I learned a lot about songs and that sort of thing, but I’m definitely excited about now being able to go and perform again."

Fanning's debut album will be released on Red Bow Records. Download 'Doin' Country Right' here.
