Darius Rucker Takes a Gamble in New Mexico
Darius Rucker is trying to help his fans get lucky. The South Carolina native has partnered with the New Mexico Lottery for a new game that has both a cash prize and the chance to get up close and personal with the star.
The Darius Rucker Scratcher, based on his latest album, 'Charleston, SC 1966,' is now available at 1100 stores across the state, with the proceeds benefiting the Legislative Lottery Scholarships, a college tuition assistance program.
"When the New Mexico Lottery asked me to participate in their campaign for education through the Scratcher, I immediately recalled my own high school days when I was asking myself how I would pay for college," Darius explains on his website. "It is progressive programs like this that further the awareness and funding for scholarship programs, and I'm excited to be involved as a representative of the country music community."
The top cash prize available is $65,000, with smaller prizes also up for grabs. In addition, the Darius Rucker Scratcher also offers a second-chance drawing for non-winning tickets, with two opportunities to win a prize package that includes a trip to meet Darius in Nashville, as well as to see him perform at the CMA Music Fest in June.
