Danny Gokey Baby News: Newlyweds to Welcome First Child in January

Congrats to Danny Gokey and his wife Leyicet, who will be first-time parents in January! The "American Idol" alum made the announcement of his impending fatherhood via Twitter, writing, "Hey guys I'm happy to announce that my wife @leyicet and I are having a baby!! She a little over 3 months pregnant & due in January!!! Yay!!"

The baby will come just in time for the couple's first anniversary. They were married in a small Florida wedding with 100 friends and family on hand this past January.

Danny and his second wife met through the non-profit organization that he opened in honor of his late first wife, Sophia Martinez, who passed away in 2008 after complications from surgery to treat congenital heart disease. Leyicet is a dedicated volunteer for the organization, Sophia's Heart, which offers housing for homeless families, GED tutoring, job counseling and life coaching.

"We are so thankful to have found each other and now be able to spend the rest of our lives together," the couple told People magazine after their wedding. "We pray our gratitude grows more every day because there is so much for us to do now."
