Tyler Farr, Maddie & Tae and More to Perform at Orlando Benefit Concert
Country music stars Tyler Farr, Maddie & Tae and more are banding together for a special event, K92.3’s Orlando's Night of Healing & Country Music, a remembrance of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando, Fla., and a benefit for the loved ones they leave behind.
The benefit concert will take place on Tuesday (June 21) at CFE Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida. Farr, Maddie & Tae, Jerrod Niemann, Canaan Smith and Michael Ray will be performing at the event, which is open to all ages. More acts will be announced.
Proceeds from ticket sales and parking at the Night of Healing will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund. The fund's formation was announced by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer; it was created to help respond to the needs of the Orlando community, both now and in the future, and will support nonprofits supporting the victims and their families; the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other affected communities; the underlying causes of the tragic event; and other needs.
"We stand united with all peace-loving citizens of Orlando in beginning the healing process, and this concert is an important step in that direction," says Paul Curran, vice president and general manager of WFTV and WRDQ, in a statement.
Ticketmaster fees have all been waived for the concert. Tickets are priced at $20 plus tax. Doors will open at 6:30PM, with the show beginning at 8PM.
Following the tragic events in Orlando, many country stars have paid tribute onstage and off: Luke Bryan called for a moment of silence during his 2016 CMA Music Festival performance, the Dixie Chicks dedicated "Better Way" to the victims; and Little Big Town performed their touching song "Miracle" in remembrance.
