'Nashville' star Clare Bowen is making a name for herself in Music City for more than just her acting chops. The Australia native, who is also a trained vocalist, credits one of country music's hottest acts with helping her discover her true passion.

"I just spent some time performing with the Zac Brown Band at the Southern Ground Music Festival," she divulged to KEGA radio station in Salt Lake City, Utah. "Standing up there with everybody, and a live audience, and there were 12,000 people in this one big paddock, and they were all so happy. To be able to give people that is the best feeling in the world. Zac really helped me discover what I want to do with the rest of my life ... it was really, really cool."

The singer-songwriter has already performed at the Grand Ole Opry, singing alongside country legend Vince Gill. But while she is thrilled to play the role of Scarlett O'Connor on the Emmy-nominated show, she admits she is intrigued by the idea of pursuing a career as an artist as well.

"I hadn't explored that [in the past], so when I read the script, that Scarlett had written and kept it to herself, that's kind of what I did," Bowen tells Rolling Stone magazine. "I had the boyfriend who was a musician and I just didn't want to get in the way – it was his thing. When I read the script I was, like, 'Whoa! Get out of brain.'"

Bowen's voice can be heard on songs from both of the soundtracks from the hit TV show, 'The Music of Nashville: Season 1 Volume 1,' and 'The Music of Nashville: Season 1 Volume 2.'

'Nashville' airs on Wednesday nights at 10PM ET on ABC.
