Americana duo Cicada Rhythm are premiering their new song "Shake Up" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play below to listen.

Guitarist Dave Kirslis' unique vocals kick off the rootsy, rock-driven tune, and stunning harmonies from bassist Andrea DeMarcus take the song's breezy melody to a whole new level. "Shake Up" is a track about finding the kind of inspiration that really, as the title suggests, shakes someone up and makes them re-evaluate exactly what they're doing.

"Sometimes you wonder where it goes / Will it return? No one knows / It's only hidin' around the bend, waiting for you to believe again," the duo sings. "It wants to see you, let you inside / The muse is here, enjoy the ride."

"Shake Up" appears on Cicada Rhythm's forthcoming sophomore album, titled Everywhere I Go. The band created the record, produced by the Milk Carton Kids' Kenneth Pattengale and Oliver Wood, in a self-described "patchwork" fashion, recording songs in living rooms, studios and gospel churches in Georgia and Tennessee.

Everywhere I Go is set for release on April 27. Visit CicadaRhythm.org for more details.
