Chris Young Denies Rumors Naming Him as a Reason for Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s Divorce

When Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their divorce on Monday (July 20), their fans were heartbroken ... and they were also left wondering what could have caused the country couple's split. But despite nasty rumors, fans can rest assured that Chris Young has nothing to do with it.

The singer made a point of shooting down the circulating whispers on his social media accounts on Tuesday afternoon (July 21). Young noted that he doesn't normally address gossip involving himself, but he felt the need to do so this time.

"My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda’s divorce. That is totally FALSE," Young writes. "They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship. Just wanted to clear that up."

The rumor was first mentioned by TMZ, with the website's sources alleging that Lambert was unfaithful to her husband because of Young.

Shelton and Lambert had been married for four years and together for a decade before their divorce was revealed, and in so many ways, the couple exuded love and affection for each other. However, as they stated when announcing their split, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."
