Chris Lane is definitely excited to welcome 2017. The singer-songwriter will kick off the new year by joining Florida Georgia Line on the next leg of their Dig Your Roots Tour, serving as an opening act along with his good friend, and former tour boss, Dustin Lynch.

"It's very exciting," Lane tells The Boot. "I love Brian [Kelley] and Tyler [Hubbard]; they’ve been so good to me. From the very get-go, they took me out on tour when I had no music. Dustin Lynch took me out right as I was putting "Fix" out, and let me be a part of his headlining tour. All of us are great friends. It’s going to be a really fun tour."

When the tour was announced, Kelley and Hubbard called both Lane and Lynch "electric young performers," and noted that the two rising artists "fit into our tour vibe perfectly." While Lane admits that joining one of the hottest acts in country music on the road is a bit intimidating, he promises to do his part to keep the fans entertained.

"I’m going to keep it as high energy as possible," Lane shares. "Florida Georgia Line bring a little bit different energy than other guys do, and I love that. I can’t wait to do what I did with Rascal Flatts: I looked out on the side of the stage, or stood out front, and watched them do their thing every single night. I’m going to do the same thing with the guys, as well as with Dustin. There’s so much that I can learn; as a young artist, I’m still learning. What a tour to be on, to learn from."

The 2017 leg of FGL's Dig Your Roots Tour kicks off in late January. A list of all of Lane's upcoming shows is available on his website.
