Cassade Pope is nominated for Best Country Duo / Group Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards, for "Think of You," her duet with Chris Young. The No. 1 hit changed plenty in Pope's life and career.

"It’s crazy; I’m beside myself right now," Pope tells The Boot of the Grammys nod. "It’s so amazing to be coupled in with all these incredible artists, and I get to go to LA to hang out with even more incredible artists."

Pope won Season 3 of The Voice in 2012; her 2017 Grammys nod makes her the first contestant from the TV singing competition to be in the running for a Grammy.

"Isn’t that insane? I can't believe it," Pope says. "I’m gladly taking on that record right there.

"I have to thank The Voice for everything they’ve done for me," Pope adds. "The real work started after the show, so I’m really glad I stuck with it."

Pope has plenty on her mind besides the Grammy Awards, though: The singer is working on a new album, but she hints that there may be some changes ahead in her professional life.

"I’m just hoping to release something. I've been writing a ton," Pope shares. "Getting the whole team behind me and to agree on songs, it’s a lot. I’m taking this year as a little bit of a transitional year, and figuring things out and doing what I want to do creatively, and not answering to anybody. It’s very validating. And scary. And risky. But I don’t care. I’m doing me."

Whenever her next project comes out, Pope hopes that it will include a collaboration or two -- and she's got some dream options in mind.

"I’ve always loved Shania Twain; she is such an inspiration to me," Pope says. "But to do a cross-genre thing would be really cool, too. I’m a big fan of the Foo Fighters, but Zac Brown Band already did that; I don’t know if I could beat that. I also love Twenty One Pilots. I love Rihanna; that would be so cool, and female empowerment."

The 59th annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 12. The Late Late Show host James Corden will host the televised ceremony, which will begin at 8PM ET on CBS; the pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony will begin at 3:30PM ET and be available to stream online.
