Carrie Underwood, ‘See You Again’ Headed to Airwaves; Kacey Musgraves Visits ‘Today’ Show + More: Country Music News Roundup

Carrie Underwood celebrated her 17th career No. 1 single by announcing her next aspiring chart-topper! Just after getting the news that her "Two Black Cadillacs" zoomed to the top of the Mediabase country charts this week, the singer-songwriter tweeted, "I am so excited to announce that, hopefully, your radios will soon be blasting 'See You Again!' I hope you are as happy as I am!" The new song, which Carrie co-wrote with David Hodges and Hillary Lindsey, is an emotional but hopeful tune about a lost love.

She's one of the most successful country artists of all time, but that's just one part of the story. Now, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is getting ready to display much more, in a cameo exhibit called "Reba: All the Women I Am," opening in the museum's East Gallery on August 9 and set to run through June 8, 2014. Before Alabama launches their 2013 Back to the Bowery tour, they're staging a special fan appreciation concert where it all started for them in 1973. On April 4, the supergroup is set to perform at the Bowery in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The free concert is a thank-you to those who have supported the band for the past 40 years. Current fan club members will have the opportunity to win their way into the intimate concert through a special lottery drawing. The remaining standing-room-only capacity will then be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Back to the Bowery tour officially kicks off April 5 and 6 with two sold-out performances at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach. For more information, click here.

Willie Nelson is among the artists who'll be represented with a special vinyl release of his classic material on Record Store Day, April 20. Crazy: The Demo Sessions is one of three limited-edition albums from Sugar Hill Records that will be available at independent record shops across the country for the latest Record Store Day. Crazy, which consists of recordings used to pitch songs to artists (including Patsy Cline, who cut that now-legendary track) and producers, features Willie's compositions from 1960-66, many of which were never released. Sugar Hill is also issuing vinyl versions of Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson's 2008 album, Rattlin' Bones and Sarah Jarosz' Live at the Troubadour EP. Find out more about Record Store Day here.

Berklee College of Music will present Willie Nelson, Carole King and Annie Lennox with honorary doctor of music degrees at the school's May 11 commencement ceremony. Lennox will also make the commencement speech. The legendary recipients are being recognized for their achievements and influence in music, as well as for their contributions to American and international culture.

Thanks to her "American Idol" days, Carrie Underwood knows a little something about being under pressure. But when a reporter for U.K. newspaper the Guardian posed a "would you rather"-type question that put the singer's vegetarianism to the test, things got a little challenging. Carrie was asked which she would choose: eating a burger made from beef or never singing again. "Oh no!" Carrie answered. "One beefburger? I don't know. I can't imagine myself ever being put in that situation. Can it just be a bite? Maybe I could do that, but I'd feel really bad about it." Carrie also reveals that she is neither Scottish, nor is she a member of a Native American tribe, in spite of what her Wikipedia page reports. [The Guardian]

She'd have a hard time finding a trailer park up there, but Kacey Musgraves is in New York City to celebrate the release of her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park this week. The Texas native performed the project's first single, "Merry Go Round," on NBC's "Today" show this morning. (Watch the performance below.)
