Carrie Underwood is known for her beautiful clothes, and this week the country music superstar put her style sense to good use. The singer-songwriter donned an Oscar de la Renta dress, as part of a fashion show hosted by Nordstrom, to raise money to bring arts into classrooms all across Middle Tennessee.

The Oklahoma native said that growing up in a rural community made her grateful to help support such a worthwhile cause. "[I went to] such a small school, we weren't really given culture," she explained to Nashville's WTVF-TV station. "I think as a young person, a child, a teenager -- that would've been so wonderful and so inspiring."

Additionally, wearing a piece from the famed designer was a first for Carrie. "I have actually never been lucky enough to wear anything by Oscar de la Renta, but there is certainly a reason he is so well respected in the fashion community," she told N Focus magazine prior to the show. "I am so excited to have the opportunity to be dressed by him. I can't wait to see what we come up with!" (See what she wore in the picture above.)

The songstress also took the stage during the evening, this time in one of her own dresses, to perform a few songs, including her newly released single, 'Good Girl,' which debuted at the top of the charts. "It's fun!" the multi-platinum-selling singer says of the new tune. "It's upbeat, you stomp your feet and you can dance to it. It's got this really rockin' verse, and this really rockin' country chorus."

The annual show, which was held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Music City on February 28, was part of Nashville Symphony's annual education outreach program. Other models also wore clothes from Oscar de la Renta's new spring collection.

'Good Girl' is the first song from her upcoming album, which will hit shelves May 1.
