Carrie Underwood is about to add yet another sparkling credit to her already cascading list of career accomplishments ... which includes American Idol winner, multi-platinum singer/songwriter, multiple Grammy, ACM and CMA Award winner. And don't forget being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in March 2008.

Well, Carrie is about to add 'actress' to her brimming portfolio. The country beauty will make her acting debut on an episode of the CBS comedy, 'How I Met Your Mother,' scheduled to air in March. She will play a new character -- "an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest for Ted" (who is played by Josh Radnor).

Carrie is scheduled to begin taping for the show later this month.
